THE SAMARLIKA PRINCIPLES
Principles in relation to the World
1. NONHARMING Every action there is equal and opposite reaction. One
must strive and do his/her best not to harm anyone by means of thought word
or action. However, a person must be ready to protect him/herself in an
eventualities that might put his/her life in danger or life threatening
situation. Every person has the right to liberty and selfpreservation.
2. BENEVOLENT TRUTHFULNESS
The use of words should be in the spirit of
welfare. One must not only be tactful but must also know the proper use of
words for benevolent purposes.
3. NON-STEALING One must not to take possession of
that belongs to others.
Stealing can be considered as physical theft i.e. stealing material
objects from people either thru the use of brute force or intellect.
Stealing can also be in the form of depriving others of their due either
physically or mentally.
4. GODLY
ATTACHMENT To remain or keep oneself attached to God. One
should always bear in mind that the whole manifested universe is the
creation of the Supreme Entity. In doing so, one should treat everything
that one comes in contact with as different expressions of God. And
therefore makes the mind pure and lighthearted.
5. NONMATERIALIST One should strive to live in modest and simplicity.
Running after excessive material objects that are superfluous for the
preservation of life is nothing but greediness. Human beings in their
desire to fulfill their thirst for infinite happiness crave after material
things to satisfy their selves. Only to find out that even if you amass
the wealth of the world no fancy mundane tricks can quench the longing for
eternal blissfulness.

Principles in relation to One Self
1. CLEANLINESS
Cleanliness can be subdivided into two parts, one is the
physical cleanliness, and the other is mental cleanliness. Physical
Cleanliness means cleanliness in ones body and his surroundings. While
mental cleanliness refers to removing the impurities or fetters of the
mind. Negative tendencies when left unchecked had the possibilities to
dominate the mind and thus result into action of the mind and the body
that are harmful to one self and others.
2. MENTAL CONTENTMENT One must keep
the mind in a state of proper
ease. Contentment will not be possible if one is running after carnal
pleasures like a wild beast. To remain contented, one has to make a
special type of mental effort to keep aloof from external allurements.
3. PENANCE
- It is the willingness and readiness to shoulder struggle and
physical discomfort for the purpose of serving humanity so that people
will be free from grief, sorrows and miseries. Service with sacrifice can
be done in many ways such as through the use of labor, valor, intelligence
and charity.
4. WISDOM
Knowledge that we gain academically will equipped us the
necessary tools in order to properly adjust and make our physical
existence in this world comfortable. But knowledge that turn human beings
to be come slave of matter and their selves are not knowledge at all. By
clear understanding and comprehension of scriptures that liberate ones
mind under the influence of crudity or static principles, one will be able
to attain greatness in life.
5. SUPREME
REALIZATION
The ultimate goal of human life is to attain
spiritual liberation. In doing so, one must ideate on cosmic self. Through
proper approach and practice one will come to the ultimate realization and
discover that deep within the inner recesses and behind the veil of one's
mind lies the absolute divinity and where all journey ends...
